1. Many Types Of Satay!
One of my favorite meals in indonesia named satay is relatively easy to cook. Just roast the satay over hot coals, and served with some special sauce. While chicken, beef and goat are common meat for main satay ingredient. In addition, there was a wide range of satay variations, from one called Sate Madura (Madura Typical), Sate Padang (Padang Typical satay, the sauce are little bit salty flavoured) and some are called Sate Lilit (Satay which is made of fish, usually found in Bali). Most of satay is served using peanut sauce mixed with soy sauce, except Sate Padang which is served with little bit salty sauce, and even one named Satay Lilit which is presented without any sauce. Sate Lilit is generally served with sambal called “sambal matah”. Hemm, sounds delicious right?

If I were president, then i would probably make the meatballs into Indonesian National food! Well… forget it, I would just get protested because of this Meatball. Meatballs is very popular food in every corner of Indonesia. Not only Meatballs are quick to served, Meatball also delicious cuisine, especially if it is eaten while still hot. Also try to eat meatballs when the weather are cold. In this condition, the sensation of eating meatballs are the best! Meatball itself is a dish that is generally made from beef, formed into spheres and boiled until cooked. And then this Indonesian culinary is served with a sauce that is used to boil, in order to keep the original flavor of the meatballs. Besides by boiling, there are also variations in the way cooking meatballs. such as by grilling it like satay. Grilled meatballs then called “bakso bakar”. In Indonesia Malang is one of city which have the best and most delicious meatballs. Try visit malang, if you want to taste the most delicious Indonesian style meatballs.
3. Many Kind Of Soto
Well, this one is another tasty Indonesian cuisine you must try! The name is Soto, which main ingredient is white rice mixed with vegetables and meat broth. Meat used for soup ingredients alone there are many kind, but the most common and popular are chicken and beef. Just like meatballs, this tasty Indonesian cuisine called Soto is also well known in many parts of Indonesia. Different with meatballs who have the same name around indonesia, which always called bakso. Soto usualy named by the region. Ranging from Soto Lamongan, Soto Betawi, Coto Makassar and many more. And Maybe I haven’t mentioned every Soto name, considering Indonesia has thousands of cities and counties. There is many ways to eat this soto, some people eating Soto without any mixture, some are eat Soto just like me. And I prefer to eat Soto with a little mixture of soy sauce. Plus lots of sambal, that going to make the Soto super spicy. Come to indonesia, and try it :)
4. Aneka Ayam dari Timur
Thousands island are owned by Indonesia, because of that there are also many ways to cook food. For example common food ingredients such as chicken can be transformed into many delicious and unique indonesian culinary. I know two delicious food made from chicken as it’s main ingredients. One named Ayam Betutu, originally from Bali, and Ayam Taliwang from Lombok island. This two are legendary food from the east. My favourite one is Ayam Taliwang which is using chicken as its basic ingredients flavoured with special super spicy seasoning from Lombok. While Ayam Betutu are just like Ayam Taliwang, just with a different flavor and its spicy level.
5. Gudeg Yogyakarta
Yogyakarta is one of city in Indonesia which are culinary heaven you not want to miss. Special areas that have a lot of street food, unique culture and many cool place to hangout. Further more, Yogyakarta also have delicious dishes named Gudeg. Gudeg is a dishes made from young jackfruit, then cooked with coconut milk in a long time. When it is cooked this dish will be lightly browned, and tend to taste a bit sweet. Yep, it is the main characteristic of Gudeg. a slightly sweet savory taste, but i like it very much :)
