Suluban Beach or also known as the Blue Point Beach, is a beautiful beach in Southern part of Bali! The place is easy to reach, and not too crowded, many high cliffs that surround the beach. That’s could be the one of the reasons why this beach so special.
The location of the beach is not far from the temple of Uluwatu, and the wave make this beach is always crowded with surfers. I think the wave is the one which attract many surfers visiting Suluban Beach AKA Blue Point Beach. Even though In the area of Uluwatu, there are many beaches that we can visit. Such as: Balangan, Tegalwangi Beach, Dreamland Beach, and Padang Padang Beach.
Stone wall that almost form a cave can be a convenient place to hide from the sun. *if you don’t want to get sunburn or tan*. Suluban supposedly derived from the word “mesulub” which had passed under the meaning of something. Because Suluban is surounded by many rocks, with a big rocks at the bottom. there is also some huge hollow rock like a tunnel that connects the real world to….. Haph!! Paradise!! To get to the beach we had to pass through tunder the hollow reef.
My Story Exploring Suluban Beach Or Blue Point Beach
If you curious why it is named as Blue point beach, here is the answer… The name of “Blue Point” more commonly known as there Villa / Resort named Blue Point in this area. That’s it… but it would be better if you just remember this place as Suluban Beach.
There’s no charge to enter this beach, only have to pay for parking if you carrying vehicle (around IDR 5000 for foreign tourist). Because the beach is located on the west side, making Suluban being the most perfect place to watch the sunset. We decide to visit Suluban Beach late in the afternoon, because if we came little late, it would be difficult for us to get an empty seat at the Blue Point Cafe. Yes! The cafe itself is the most suitable place to spend time before sunset and seing the beach. Trust me, it’s pretty awesome seen the beach from above!
I did mention that you’d better name this place as Suluban Beach. But, in fact the resort and cafe made this place more famous as Blue Point Beach. Yep! The cafe which is located above the cliffs that makes visitors can see the ocean and the sunset with perfect view! Of course the place is never empty, there always crowded with surfers and tourist who just simply want to have a drink and enjoy the fragrant sunset.
Well, it is hard to see local people here, doesn’t matter there is live music plus candles are lit when it is dark there. Anyway I promised to come back again to this place just for relaxing! :)
The History of Suluban beach A.K.A Blue Point Beach
Suluban Beach (Blue Point Beach) Bali – Beautiful Beach Under the Cliff – Suluban Beach or better known by foreign tourists as Blue Point Beach is one of the beaches that is quite beautiful, white sand, waves suitable for surfing and surrounded by high cliffs with gaps -that resembles a cave or tunnel. In the Suluban Beach there are many cafes and beach clubs which are located above these cliffs with stunning views of the Blue Point / Suluban beach.
At first, this beach is better known as Suluban Beach or Suluban Beach. Suluban itself comes from a word in Balinese which means “passing under something” or mesulub. This is because this beach is under a towering cliff. The location of this beach includes quite hidden in the South Kuta area, but at this time there are many tourists who know about this beach.
The more famous Suluban Beach, the new name was given to the Suluban beach. The foreign tourists who want to be easier in remembering the name of this beach, they call it Blue Point Beach because there is a Blue Point hotel on this beach cliff.
Location of the Blue Point Beach AKA Suluban Beach
Suluban or Blue Point Beach is located in Pecatu Village, South Kuta, Kab. Badung, Bali. The location of this beach can be reached around 45 minutes from Ngurah Rai Airport. The location of the Suluban Beach is approximately 30 km (± 70 minutes journey) from the center of Denpasar and 23 km (± 50 minutes journey) from Kuta Beach.
If you know Bali’s famous tourist attractions such as Dreamland Beach, Uluwatu Temple or Padang Padang Beach, the direction to Suluban / Blue Point Beach is the same as the direction to the famous tourist spot.
Blue Point Beach is located under a cliff, therefore after arriving at this beach parking lot, you first have to go down the stairs that are quite long down the cliff. Between the beach and parking lot, there will be many cafes or beach clubs, you can enjoy the beach view from above (especially when the sea is high).
But when the sea recedes, you can walk down and down the narrow and rather slippery steps, past the ‘cave’ or ‘tunnel’ and can take a leisurely stroll on the beach at Blue Point / Suluban.
Tourist Attraction of Suluban beach A.K.A Blue Point Beach
Suluban / Blue Point Beach has a big tourist attraction, starting from the uniqueness of the scenery, the cliffs that rise around it that form a kind of tunnel or cave on the beach, the waves are very suitable for surfing (surfing), white sand as well as cool hangout places at the existing cafe or beach club.
Surfing waves make Blue Point Beach very popular with foreign tourists who like to surf. No wonder if you visit this beach, you will only find a few local tourists, which is probably because this beach is not yet well known to local tourists compared to other beaches such as Kuta Beach, Pandawa Beach or Dreamland Beach.
A charming sunset view can also be seen from Blue Point Beach, of course because this beach faces westward, such as Dreamland Beach, Padang Padang Beach or Balangan Beach.
You can also camp on Blue Point Beach, precisely at the cave / tunnel below the last step. Many tourists often camp on Blue Point Beach.
To go to Blue Point Beach, you should not bring children, because of the big waves that often hit the cliffs and there are narrow and rather slippery stairs. Especially when returning to the parking lot, visitors must climb stairs about 200 meters. Is it dangerous enough not to bring children?
