Get Lost In Cemara Beach, East Lombok, Indonesia

Idbackpacker.com (Indonesia Backpacker) – Do a road trip, get lost and found a nice beach like this Cemara Beach, sounds like a nice adventure huh !? Well why not try getting lost once in a while?

Get lost in a journey once in a while is not that bad thing, moreover if you accidentally discovered a natural beach that is not exist in your itinerary. Especially if that beach was like a private beach, no one else beside you, your friends and a wild nature. Yeah! i call it ” stray but blessed with luck “.

It is not a secret anymore that Lombok, Indonesia has many natural beaches are still clean and quiet. While it may be only a few people visit it and know it’s existence. Just like Cemara Beach that we found accidentally. Although the actual location of the beach is very easy to reach, for some reason the beach is so quiet. No other human here other than us.

I felt like inside Cast Away movie, becoming the main actor, Tom Hanks. When I first stepped my feet in this deserted Cemara Beach. The difference is that Tom Hanks might had to think thousand ways how to get out of the island, while I think, why this beautiful Cemara Beach is very beautiful but quiet. Well, I think that’s good, because then the beach was saved from the thing like mass tourism. Somehow, in many thing, mass tourism will be ruining a place called paradise. And i don’t want this beautiful cemara beach ruined :)

Can you resist not playing in this quiet and beautiful Cemara Beach?

I see so many pine trees around the beach, i think that’s why this beach named “Pantai Cemara”. Because “Cemara” mean Pine in english. I’m not sure about the real origin of the beach name, but i know the name from one local people that i meet when i wandering around Cemara Beach. If I didn’t meet him, i would definitely give a name “an unknown paradise beach”, not just Cemara Beach. *pardon for the long and not so cool name :D

Cemara Beach is located on a bay with a position slightly indented to the mainland. Even though it’s located in the southern part that directly adjacent to the Indian Ocean, Cemara Beach is suitable for swimming, the waves were pretty quiet. Surfing isn’t recommended here, but playing in the water all day is highly recommended. I don’t think no one can resist from Cemara Beach blue turquoise water color. Just dont forget bringing your own sunblock, no one sell such a thing here.

Bringing your own food is also recommended, the beach location is really deserted. Don’t expect finding a supermarket here, i don’t even found small warung here. Lucky i already bought some food supplies in Mataram,  i was really saved from starving.

Beautiful beaches like this Cemara Beach can really enchant everyone who came. Make everyone who comes to this beach want to stay longer, or forever if possible. Maybe if Tom Hanks who starred in the Cast Away movie was stranded on this beach, He would not think of a thousand ways to get off the island, but thinking how he can stay in this beautiful beach as long as possible.
